Development capabilities, built around manufacturing.
Food science is important — but developing a commercially successful manufacturing process also requires practical knowledge of how ingredients, formulations and equipment interact in actual production. Every capability below is exercised with the finished product, and the facility that will make it, in mind.
Development capabilities
Product concept & feasibility
Define the product objective and evaluate its commercial requirements.
Benchmark development
Create the target product through structured iterative development.
Formulation development
Develop ingredient systems and quantitative formulations around the product objectives.
Iterative product testing
Test, evaluate and refine the product until the benchmark is established.
Ingredient & supplier qualification
Identify commercially appropriate ingredients and sourcing options.
Process development
Develop the methods required to consistently manufacture the intended product.
Nutrition & regulatory
Prepare the product information necessary for commercial labeling and production.
Certification planning
Consider certification and specialized compliance objectives during development.
Branding & packaging development
Create packaging and brand assets appropriate for commercial production.
Product visualization
Create product imagery, renderings and presentation assets for commercialization.
Pre-production validation
Verify the complete product and packaging system under representative commercial conditions.
Commercial manufacturing
Provide a pathway to flexible commercial production through Ace CoPack where appropriate.
Manufacturing transition & scale-up
Help established products transition to larger or specialized manufacturing environments when business requirements evolve.
Some concepts need a different path
Some concepts may require specialized equipment, certifications, processes or production capabilities outside our affiliated manufacturing facility. When we identify those requirements, we discuss the technical and commercial implications with the client and help determine an appropriate path forward.
Certifications & specialized requirements
Some products require more than standard formulation and labeling. Clients may have objectives involving:
These requirements can influence ingredient selection, suppliers, manufacturing facilities and production economics. Certain certifications are directly connected to the manufacturing facility itself — a product developed with organic-compatible ingredients, for example, may ultimately require production through an appropriately certified facility.
Where specialized certification, laboratory testing, audits, food-safety consulting or other third-party services are required, those services may be separately scoped and performed by qualified outside providers. Our objective is to identify these requirements early so the product can be developed with its intended commercial pathway in mind.
